Q&E was retained by the Township of Scugog to provide comprehensive engineering and project management services for the replacement of a community picnic shelter in Port Perry, ON. The scope of work encompassed the full project lifecycle - from preliminary design and environmental consultation through to detailed design and construction drawings, followed by contract administration and on-site inspection.
A key element of the project involved close collaboration with Township officials to ensure the new shelter would not only meet functional and durability requirements but also reflect the community’s heritage. Q&E’s architectural team incorporated design features, materials, and proportions that harmonize seamlessly with the historic architecture of downtown Port Perry. The result is a thoughtfully integrated structure that enhances the local park space, respects the town’s unique character, and provides a welcoming gathering place for residents and visitors alike.
